Katie and Nate reached out to me to capture their love through engagement photos in Downtown Detroit. They loved the bar vibe, so we scheduled their Detroit engagement photos to be taken at Sugar House in Corktown! Corktown is one of the oldest part of Detroit with great history. It’s also a great place to grab dinner after a bar engagement photoshoot!

Sugar House is a moody, old-school bar that has amazing cocktail and some of the best bartenders! They have some of the most unique cocktails and truly making your visit an experience. You really cannot go wrong with a visit to this Corktown staple. They also have a wonderful patio that’s open for warmer months. We used both their indoor and outdoor spaces for photos.

After spending some time in Sugar House, we walked over to Roosevelt Park. Roosevelt Park is a recent development by the city that has brought so much beauty to Corktown. Michigan Central sits right behind the park, which makes as a gorgeous background for Detroit engagement photos! The best time of day to take photos in Corktown is typically early in the morning or just before sunset for the best lighting.
